# Walter Jay

> Walter Jay is a freelance software developer. He builds fast, useful web tools and apps, and fast websites that search engines and AI assistants can read. He works in English and French, and has been on the blockchain since November 2016 (Steem, then Hive from March 2020). Contact: contact@walterjay.fr.

## About

- Born in France; spent his teenage years in Wellington, New Zealand; back in France since 2013. Fluent in French and English.
- Studied computer science at Epitech in France from 2015 to 2020, where he learned a lot more about programming and learned how to learn. Spent two semesters abroad in 2018–2019 at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea.
- Worked for two years (2020 to 2022) at a blockchain fintech company, then quit to travel the world.
- First solo trip in 2022: Georgia and Greece. Then two three-month trips to Asia: in 2024, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia; in 2025, starting at HiveFest in Kuala Lumpur, then Borneo, Brunei, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.
- First blockchain post in November 2016, naming blockchain and travel as his two passions. His account moved to Hive at its launch in March 2020.
- Has visited 30+ countries, with a lifetime goal of 99.
- Builds with AI coding agents; every change is tested and reviewed by him before it goes live.
